IGCSE Results
The GCSE and IGCSE are internationally respected qualifications studied by students between 14 and 16 years old. Respected by employers and universities, they cover a broad range of core subjects including maths, English, and science, as well as world languages, humanities, social sciences, art, drama, and music. They are the most academically challenging qualifications currently on offer for 14- to 16-year-old students worldwide, and many candidates go on to study the International Baccalaureate (IB).
Our students' results for 2020 exceed the UK average for GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education) and IGCSEs (the International GCSE). In 2020, 98% of students achieved 5A*–C grades.
Our students' continued success in GCSE and IGCSE results is a testament to BIS Houston’s high academic standards, excellent teaching, and the hard work and dedication of our students. Students continue to significantly outperform UK national averages, with attainment levels increasing year-on-year.
Our three-year trend illustrates:
- Over 50% of all GCSE and IGCSE grades achieved by BIS Houston students were at the highest levels of A* or A. This is 30% higher than the 2017 UK average of 20%.
- The percentage of students achieving 5 A*–C, including in English and Maths, is consistently over 90%
