We are extremely proud of our Year 11 class of 2023 on their incredible IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) results.
This remarkable class, our second largest IGCSE cohort of 130 students, were awarded 70.2% of grades at A* or A. It’s fitting that in our 25th year, 25 of these students achieved A* or A in all of their subjects, a truly incredible achievement. 46 students achieved A*/A in at least 8 subjects showing the incredible breadth of our students’ knowledge and success across all disciplines.
With 98.2% of all grades at A*- C, and 98.5% of students achieving A* - C in 5 or more subjects, these results are a great motivation as our students begin their first year of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
A huge congratulations also goes out to the 51 Year 10 students who took IGCSE maths a year early with exceptional results of 98% A*/A, of which 81% received an A*.
Our new Head of Secondary Mr Stephen Kay shared his thoughts on the 2023 results:
"We are all very proud of our Year 11 cohort, who have achieved exceptional IGCSE results. These results are a testament to the dedication of the students, the support they receive from their families and the world class learning that our teachers provide every day at BIS. We’re looking forward to the continued success of our students as they begin their IBDP journey in our 6th form. Congratulations everyone!"
Whilst the 2023 cohort completed the academic year in person, they began their IGCSE journey online and showed extreme resilience throughout this time. These results demonstrate just how well our students adapted to the situation and persevered to overcome the challenges that faced them.
