TX at the SISAC Athletics Championships
With nearly 400 primary school students competing, the SISAC Track and Field championships are one of the biggest events in the city’s calendar. It is also one of the sports with an under 9 division giving our Year 3 and 4 students a chance to sample competitive sport with other schools in the city.
Events like this are a great way for students to grow. They experience competition, independence and have to develop motivation and determination to succeed in their events. They are also of course a lot of fun and a fantastic opportunity to make new friends.
Running races from 100m – 800m, along with high jump, long jump, discus, shot put and javelin were contested by the students. All TX students were a credit to the school by not only competing excellently but by displaying outstanding attitudes and sportsmanship all day. A special mention to our Y3 students, who for most this was their first organised sports competition.
