It's the summer holidays!
This morning the children in year 5 finished this terms IPC topic of ‘Space’ with a bang, as they blasted off rockets on the playground. Both classes have been working tirelessly at home for the past two weeks to complete their missiles. All their hard work paid off this morning as they put on a brilliant show for the children, parents and teachers.
There was some interesting and surprising designs like Tutu’s slingshot rocket and Mina’s parachuting rocket. A special mention should go to Tri and David, who both managed to clear the height of the school with their designs. Fantastic work!
Well done to all the children for taking part.

On Thursday 15th October 2015, all the Year 6s took part in our ‘Brainwave Exit Point’. This event holds 6 activities which were very challenging. The point of this event was to challenge the Year 6s to use learning styles that they have developed throughout the topic and to work as a team. In addition, they used their knowledge of ways to memorise things off by heart – which they had also learnt in IPC and Information Literacy. Parents were also invited to join!
There were various activities that the children took part in. There was the Simon game - where they had to remember the patterns. After that, there was the poem. The poem describes how the brain works. We had to remember at least 1 verse in the poem before going to lunch! Also, we had to remember the objects that were hidden in the yellow fabric. There was also the matching pairs game which everyone really enjoyed.
Besides these, the children were challenged to put pieces of a puzzle together to make a map of the British Isles – the catch with this was that the children had to memorise all of the cities and towns that were on the puzzle as well as their location!!
There were not just memory games, the children also did brain-challenging games like Crack The Code.
Finally, all 6 groups finished the morning by performing the poem they had learnt. There were a few mistakes by each group but overall they were really good. Everyone was dying for the results. The results are as following:
1st: Team Dream
2nd: Team Tracy
Everybody did a really good job on teamwork!
It was a really brain-tastic day!

We are incredibly proud to announce that our class of 2024, with a cohort of just over 102 students, have achieved outstanding IBDP results, significantly outperforming all IBDP Global averages. Once again, the hard work, commitment, skills, and attitude of our students has been recognised with stunning academic results that place them among the very best worldwide. These results now provide our students with an astounding choice of some of the top universities worldwide.
Every year BIS HCMC takes students from across several year groups, in Primary and Secondary to the FOBISIA Friendly Games, held near Pattaya in Thailand. This provides our young athletes with the opportunity to compete at a high level against other British International Schools across Asia in athletics, basketball, football, swimming and T-ball as well as form global friendships with their peers throughout the region.
Last month we were proud to have three student ambassadors attend this year’s NAE-UNICEF Student Summit, hosted for the first time ever in Houston, Texas from 12 to 19 June 2024. The event was hosted at Nord Anglia’s two schools in the city: The Village School and the British International School of Houston. Houston was chosen as the ideal location for the Summit thanks to being the first officially recognised “Child-Friendly City” in the United States of America.
