Dear Parents,
Dear Parents,
As we approach the end of term, the calendar has been full of exit points, celebrations, and showcases of work. Year 3, 4, and 5 this week were celebrating the end of their topics with exit points, which saw lots of parents in school being taught by their children and deepening their knowledge about our curriculum.
Sometimes people might ask, Why is an exit point important? Over a unit of work or topic, the students grow their learning, knowledge, and skills. At the end of the topic, retrieving, organising, and presenting their knowledge helps the students retain what they have learned while organising their thinking. In addition, sharing their learning develops the children’s communication skills and their confidence. Celebrating their learning and work with parents also gives them a great sense of pride. It was lovely once again to see so many parents coming into school to join in these valuable moments in your child’s learning.
International Week is almost upon us, and I know we are all looking forward to tomorrow’s festival as well. Each class in primary has chosen a country to study, and parents have already been invited to join in by running a workshop and getting involved. If you would like to get involved at all next week, please contact your child’s class teacher. To celebrate the end of International Week, our annual parade will take place on Friday at 8:50 in the auditorium. All students are encouraged to dress in colours and clothes that represent their country, and parents are also welcome to dress up and join this special whole school assembly.
I hope everyone enjoys these final days of a wonderful half-term. See you all tomorrow!
