Dear Parents,
Dear Parents,
It's been a fantastic couple of days welcome back all of our returning students. It's been heartwarming to watch them reconnect with their friends and teachers as the new academic year begins. Our new students may have had a more nervous start, but it's been a positive one all the same. With friendships forming and our buddies doing an amazing job of caring for and looking after the students in their class, it is clear that Care, Respect, and Integrity are at the center of everything we do.
Teachers are setting high expectations for students' behavior, attitudes toward learning, and transitions around the classroom and school, which has resulted in an excellent start to the school year. Next Wednesday, at 15:15, we'll invite parents to the Primary School for Meet the Teacher sessions. These are important opportunities for you to meet with your child's class teacher and year group team, as well as learn more about the curriculum, expectations, and the year ahead. We're looking forward to seeing everyone there.
This year, we took a different approach with our youngest kids, launching Home visits in F1 and F2. The purpose of these visits is to get to know the children and their parents better in a familiar environment. We know that when school and home work effectively together, the student benefits. We continue to nurture relationships with students and parents at BIS Hanoi. Our F1 and F2 teachers have enjoyed learning more about the children and have valued the time spent on home visits, and we thank all parents for engaging and partnering with us.
The House Sorting Assembly was our first Whole School Assembly of the year. During period 4, everyone gathered in the auditorium while new students and teachers were assigned to Hanoi, Hue, Dalat, or Saigon! An exciting and enjoyable occasion that served as a precursor to our inaugural Whole School House Lunch, when students from Years 1-13 gathered in houses to get to know each other and build team spirit.
We are already excited for the next week ahead. Well done, everyone! It's great to be back!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and good luck to Spain and England’s women’s football teams, who are in the final of the World Cup this weekend!
