The students were matched to their areas of interest, including sales, performance, education, and guest services. They also spent time in various of the other departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of all business operations. The feedback from students was overwhelmingly positive—they found the experience extremely valuable and were impressed by the amazing people they met. Every student highly recommended the opportunities, citing the positive references, valuable contacts, and additional work experience offers, some of which may even be paid!
Practical activities are a cornerstone of the BTEC programme, helping students develop their employability skills and strengthen their applications for university, apprenticeships, and future careers. Our partnering employers are already looking forward to meeting more of our talented BTEC students next year.
Last week, Mrs. Stanier, our Head of Humanities, had the pleasure of accompanying three of our amazing students: Tia and Renad from Year 12, and Turkan from Year 10, to Houston, Texas, to take part in the NAE UNICEF summit. We were thrilled to be hosted by one of our Nord Anglia schools, The Village School in Houston, the first Child-Friendly City in the US recognised by UNICEF. The Village School is a boarding school, so the students got to experience what life was like as a boarding student there for the week.
