Meet Lisa Mulligan, an FS2 teacher at the School:

How long have your children been at BIS Abu Dhabi? We arrived in Abu Dhabi in 2009 and my two boys were here on the first day the school opened. Liam started in Year 5 and finished Year 13 in 2018. Quinn started in Year 2 and finished at BIS Abu Dhabi last year. They are now both at Universities in the UK.

Where is “home” for you?
I was born in London but my parents moved to South Africa when I was 3 and I grew up there. Before moving to Abu Dhabi, I lived in Cape Town with my family.

What do you do in Abu Dhabi? I spend time with family and friends, exploring the city and finding interesting places to visit. There are always new things to try out.

What brought your family to Abu Dhabi? My husband, Mike, was offered a job and we originally moved over with the intention of staying for two years. Thirteen years later, we now call Abu Dhabi home.

Tell us something that few people know about you: I enjoy experimenting with recipes and cooking different cuisines for friends and family.

What is your favourite thing about being a part of the BIS Abu Dhabi community?
The friends that I have made amongst the parents and teachers.  Many of them have moved on but we keep in contact and they are all still proud BIS Abu Dhabi families.

What tips or advice would you give to new families joining BIS Abu Dhabi? Join In! Sign up to your class WhatsApp group and come along to parent meetings and events (Once they are back up and running.)

What do you enjoy most about living in Abu Dhabi? The people that I get to meet from all over the world.
