The ghaf tree is the national tree of the United Arab Emirates, and it was with great pleasure that Mr. Horne, ably assisted by Year 12 student Jalilah, planted a sapling ghaf in the school grounds today.
The tree will stand to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the UAE and will, in time, provide shade for future students of BIS Abu Dhabi, as these trees have done for the people of these lands for many years.
