To celebrate Book Week, the Languages Department held its 2nd Spanish Writing Competition 2020.
The topic this year was to write about Festivities in Spain or Mexico. We also invited our sister school in Dubai to participate, and were delighted to receive a total of 101 entries in different categories.
Each entry was reviewed by a team of specialists from BIS Abu Dhabi and NAIS Dubai, the local Spanish newspaper El Correo del Golfo, and the Spanish and Mexican Embassies.
We would like to congratulate and give our thanks to all of the participants who have made a fantastic contribution to this event.
All participants received a certificate for their participation, and the winners will also receive a prize of a Spanish book kindly provided by the Spanish Embassy.
Drumroll please… here are the list of winners for our Spanish Writing competition:

Many congratulations to these students!
Last week, Mrs. Stanier, our Head of Humanities, had the pleasure of accompanying three of our amazing students: Tia and Renad from Year 12, and Turkan from Year 10, to Houston, Texas, to take part in the NAE UNICEF summit. We were thrilled to be hosted by one of our Nord Anglia schools, The Village School in Houston, the first Child-Friendly City in the US recognised by UNICEF. The Village School is a boarding school, so the students got to experience what life was like as a boarding student there for the week.
