I am from the west of Ireland, a small county called Leitrim. I completed by BA (Hons) Business degree in Ireland before moving over to Portsmouth in the UK to complete my PGCE in Business Studies. I spent three years teaching in England in a sixth form college before embarking on an new adventure to teach in Abu Dhabi, it was initially only for a term but I stayed at that school for six years teaching Business and Economics. In the last year, I took the opportunity to teach in Australia whilst I was completing a Masters in Special Educational Needs. Since joining BIS Abu Dhabi, this academic year, I have really enjoyed how multi-cultural my classes are and teaching Business really enables me to embrace the opportunity to discuss multi-national businesses across the globe that my students are familiar with.
Although teaching in the Middle East has enable me to satisfy my wanderlust bug, I still love returning to my home in Leitrim every summer when there is less chance of rain! I am the second youngest of nine children and have many nieces and nephews that I enjoy spending time with, when I am home. In my spare time, I like keeping active by participating in 10KM runs and I am currently gearing myself up to sign up for half marathons in the near future.
