I am originally from Leeds, which is a city in the North of England. I grew up there with my mum, dad and younger brother.
Growing up, I loved school, it was one of my favourite places to be, and my teachers were my heroes. Because of this, I knew from an early age that being a teacher was what I wanted to do in life.
Once I had finished school, I went to University and gained my BA Hons in Education with a specialism in Early Years. While at University, I had the opportunity to travel to Spain and teach in an International School. I learnt so much from this experience, and I loved being immersed in different cultures and working with staff and children from diverse backgrounds.
Once I finished University, I worked in schools in Bradford in England for six years before deciding I wanted a new challenge. I took the plunge and moved to Abu Dhabi four years ago. I worked in another school in Abu Dhabi for two years before moving to BIS Abu Dhabi.
While at BIS Abu Dhabi I have been lucky enough to teach in FS2 before moving to FS1 Nursery this year and taking on the responsibility of Year Leader. I love working at BIS Abu Dhabi, especially the community feel that the school has. I have also been lucky enough to work with many of the children in different year groups through the school CCA programme.
In my free time, I am an avid reader and read anything I can get my hands on. I also enjoy being outside in the sun, another reason I like living in Abu Dhabi.
I see so many of you around school, be sure to say hello next time you see me.
