The gala was a great success for our competitors and the school. Each student should be very proud of their performance. The school was not only delighted with their results but the sportsmanship of each student.
Admissions are now open for 2025/2026

ADISSA: Finals Gala
On Friday 19th April and Saturday 20th April our Junior and Senior swim teams took part in the ADISSA Finals Gala. Eleven schools from across Abu Dhabi attended the two-day event. The gala was a great success for our competitors and the school. Each student should be very proud of their performance. The school was not only delighted with their results but the sportsmanship of each student, how well they represented the school and how hard they have trained over the last two terms. We would also like to thank the parents for the support they have offered the students and staff at this event and throughout the year.
Juniors took on 25m and 50m races of all strokes, freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and fly as well as the 100m individual medley. The Seniors then increased their distances on Saturday with 100m and 200m races as well.
By the end of the weekend our Junior team came home with a total of 9 golds, 5 silvers and 4 bronzes across both individual and relay events. Our Senior team then finished with 12 gold medals, 12 silver medals and 6 bronze medals across both individual and relay events.
Well done again to all swimmers for their hard work and excellent swimming during the gala.

The British International School Abu Dhabi (BIS Abu Dhabi) was deeply honoured to welcome Her Highness Sheikha Shamma Bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan to its campus on Thursday, 17 April 2025. Her Highness, President & CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) and The Climate Tribe, is a distinguished entrepreneur, thought leader, and researcher with a deep commitment to sustainability, climate change, and gender equity.
At The British International School Abu Dhabi, we believe that education is not just about academic success—it’s about nurturing compassionate, responsible young people who understand the importance of giving back. This Ramadan, I have been truly moved by the way our students have embraced the spirit of the holy month, demonstrating kindness, generosity, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Inspired by the latest Nord Anglia INSIGHTS article exploring why the Early Years are the most important years of a child’s education, we know that a child’s most significant learning happens during this time - in ways that are not always immediately visible.
