Hello, my name is Trinidad, I come from Algarrobo, Chile and have been in the UAE for about 13 years. I am in Year 12 and have been at BIS Abu Dhabi for approximately 8 months, I’m a relatively new student and I have to say that of the four schools I have attended in Abu Dhabi, BIS Abu Dhabi is definitely my favourite. In the short months I have been here I have made many friends, some of whom I can clearly call my best friends in the world, and I don’t use this term lightly, Yomna you know what you are to me. The people at BIS Abu Dhabi are some of the friendliest I have ever met.
My favourite event from this school year was the school play, many of my friends participated in the show so I was very excited to see it. The performance blew me away, and I even teared up a bit. The set of the show was really extraordinary and was like nothing I have ever seen before.
My favourite class is Biology, as I have two excellent teachers Miss Osman and Mr Dietrich who inspire me to work harder. We also have really interactive dissection lessons, which I really enjoy as I want to be a doctor in the future. As for my hobbies, I really enjoy playing the piano, watching movies and tv shows, I am especially excited to go see Avengers: Endgame this Wednesday.
As my Secondary School experience is coming to an end, I have to think about the future, I am aspiring to go to a New York State University, such as NYU and Hofstra. I want to be a cardiological surgeon and practice in the USA or work for Doctors without Borders.
Lastly, we need to save the environment, climate change is real and with the words of the famous Jake Peralta, “we all gon’ drown”.

The British International School Abu Dhabi (BIS Abu Dhabi) was deeply honoured to welcome Her Highness Sheikha Shamma Bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan to its campus on Thursday, 17 April 2025. Her Highness, President & CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) and The Climate Tribe, is a distinguished entrepreneur, thought leader, and researcher with a deep commitment to sustainability, climate change, and gender equity.
At The British International School Abu Dhabi, we believe that education is not just about academic success—it’s about nurturing compassionate, responsible young people who understand the importance of giving back. This Ramadan, I have been truly moved by the way our students have embraced the spirit of the holy month, demonstrating kindness, generosity, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Inspired by the latest Nord Anglia INSIGHTS article exploring why the Early Years are the most important years of a child’s education, we know that a child’s most significant learning happens during this time - in ways that are not always immediately visible.
