Our student profile this week is Georgia, a student in Year 4. Georgia loves nature, is on the Girls’ Football Team as well as Little Stars and talks about the other experiences she has had at BIS Abu Dhabi:
My name is Georgia and I am in year 4. I am 8 years old and was born in Scotland. I joined BIS Abu Dhabi in FS1 in 2013. My two brothers joined in 2012 and they are now in Year 10 and Year 8. I love nature. My favorite subjects are Art and Science. I have a really nice teacher, Mr Scott Jackson. He is very funny and is really good at Maths and is in charge of Maths. I have had a good teacher every year I’ve been at BIS Abu Dhabi.

I had a big seizure at school in FS1. My Mum and Dad took me to a special Doctor called a Neurologist and she told us I have epilepsy. She gave me some medicine to take two times a day every day to stop the seizures and I still take it. All the teachers and the teaching assistants, nurses and everyone have been really kind and helpful at school. It doesn’t stop me from doing anything at school. I have lots of chances to try new things, to try hard and to do things I enjoy. Some of the things I have done since being at BIS Abu Dhabi:
I am so lucky to be at BIS Abu Dhabi. I am having lots of opportunities and I hope the things I am learning will help me to be a vet one day in the future.
The British International School Abu Dhabi (BIS Abu Dhabi) was deeply honoured to welcome Her Highness Sheikha Shamma Bint Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahyan to its campus on Thursday, 17 April 2025. Her Highness, President & CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators (UICCA) and The Climate Tribe, is a distinguished entrepreneur, thought leader, and researcher with a deep commitment to sustainability, climate change, and gender equity.
At The British International School Abu Dhabi, we believe that education is not just about academic success—it’s about nurturing compassionate, responsible young people who understand the importance of giving back. This Ramadan, I have been truly moved by the way our students have embraced the spirit of the holy month, demonstrating kindness, generosity, and a genuine commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
Inspired by the latest Nord Anglia INSIGHTS article exploring why the Early Years are the most important years of a child’s education, we know that a child’s most significant learning happens during this time - in ways that are not always immediately visible.
