Welcome to the Academic Year 2014/15!
We are most looking forward to holding our Orientation Days for children and parents at 9am-12.30pm on Wednesday 27th and Thursday 28th August 2014.
These days offer the opportunity for both new and returning students to visit informally, meet the new class teacher/form tutor and for Primary students to locate their new classroom. All class lists from FS1 to Year 13 will be displayed during these Orientation Days.
We also invite you to attend one of two welcome sessions held daily in the Main Hall to hear from the Principal Mrs. Lesley-Ann Wallace and Heads of School Ms. Michelle Hayes, Head of Primary School, and Mr. Craig Mclaren, Head of Secondary School:
Welcome session (repeated twice on both Orientation Days):
New families
Guides will be on hand to help you find where you need to be on the premises. We also ask parents who may have outstanding documentation to bring this ready to submit to the admissions team, such as original transfer letter, school reports, etc.
Year 10 students
During the orientation days it is essential that Year 10 student register with Mr. Ross Wales, Head of Year 10 and Mr. Andrew Bradley Assistant Head Key Stage 4, in the Drama Studio. Each student will be asked to confirm GCSE options as we are aware that sometimes people reflect over the holidays and may wish to discuss changing their initial choices.
Year 12 students - Thursday 28th August
Similarly all Year 12 students must register with Ms Katrina Charles, Assistant Head Post 16 in the Drama Studio, on Thursday 28th August, to confirm their subject choices and qualifications route.
Dining Hall:
In order to make your back-to-school experience as smooth as possible, our Dining Hall will not only have plentiful supplies of tea and coffee flowing throughout the day but will also host the transport team Shanawaz. A reminder all students both new and returning must register for the bus - a delay in this will mean your child may not be able to use the service for the first few days of school.
The D Club, our catering company, will be available in the Dining Hall to make payment for their service should your children wish to make use of school lunches.
We also aim to have our secondhand uniform sale taking place in the Dining Hall; this was a hugely successful venture last year, ran by our parents providing an excellent service whilst raising funds for worthy local causes such as Choice 2 Change.
The Finance office will be open for any outstanding school fees which require payment.
2013/14 Yearbooks will also be available for collection at the Main Reception for those who ordered a copy at the end of last year and have not yet received them.
Uniforms are not required on this day but of course we expect everyone to look smart with no radical haircuts, long hair tied back and polish free nails.
The first day of the 2014/15 Academic Year will be Sunday 31st August 2014.
