INTERNATIONAL MIDDLE SCHOOL CURRICULUM

At San Roberto International Middle School in Monterrey, we push our students out of their comfort zone while nurturing their characters and building on the skills they've mastered in earlier grades. Your child’s Personal Learning Plan will see them work towards short- and long-term goals, as they develop the attributes and knowledge they need to succeed at high school.

OUR INTERNATIONAL MIDDLE SCHOOL CURRICULUM

At San Roberto, your child will benefit from a personalized approach that ensures they’re intellectually energized, socially connected, and globally aware. This paves the way for a successful educational journey when they leave us at the end of grade 9.

To support our individualized learning approach, students at our international middle school in Monterrey take MAP standardized tests twice a year. This measures their growth against worldwide grade norms and ensures they’re making great progress.

DEVELOPING THE WHOLE CHILD

At San Roberto, Monterrey, we’re committed to the development of the whole child. As part of our middle school curriculum, students take physical education and civics courses, and choose from one of three music specialties (choir, band, or percussion), based on their interests and abilities.

We also emphasize the importance of character development. We encourage personal growth through our values program, advisory program, Digital Nation framework, and social responsibility campaigns. Teachers act as guides and coaches for students as they develop their Personal Learning Plans, making sure they include passions beyond their academic middle school classes.

NURTURING COMPASSIONATE GLOBAL LEADERS

Your child will gain a global perspective at our international middle school in Monterrey, thanks to the Global Campus digital platform. Working with peers from Nord Anglia schools worldwide, our students tackle global issues through immersive projects and challenges.

Our grade 9 students also take part in the Interims program. For one week, they experience a variety of topics that could see them travel to places like China, Japan, Canada, and Orlando, take part in local masterclasses, or engage in enriching social responsibility projects.

On the Leadership Skills and Global Issues course, grade 6-9 learners hone their debating abilities, learn about Model United Nations (MUN) protocols, and explore international affairs. Students also learn about democratic and citizenship processes by voting, campaigning, and electing Student Government officers.

CRITICAL THINKING AND TECHNOLOGY

Our middle school curriculum nurtures our students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills through the integrated use of interactive technology.

At San Roberto, every aspect of learning is enriched by EdTech, supported by high-speed Wi-Fi connections across our campuses. Students in grades 4-9 have access to their own devices, too, which foster active learning and bring topics and projects to life.

Students participate in extracurricular activities like Model UN, to develop their leadership and communication skills, and learn how they can draw on their own unique skills to play a role in global situations. They can put this knowledge to action with our residential trips to places like Tanzania, and our work with UNICEF.
