Regents International School Pattaya is just one of 200 schools in 50 countries, and the only one in this region of Thailand, that adopts the ‘Round Square’ approach to education.

To become part of Round Square a school must demonstrate how the six ‘pillars’ or IDEALS are offered to its students through different areas of educational practice. The six IDEALS are:

  • Internationalism
  • Democracy
  • Environmental awareness
  • Adventure
  • Leadership
  • Service to the community

The Round Square Discoveries

In addition to the six IDEALS, students are expected to discover twelve route-markers or 'Round Square Discoveries'. This integral part of the Round Square Discovery Framework describes the attitudes, attributes, skills and values developed and explored by students on their Round Square learning journey.

The Benefits to our Students

At Regents the IDEALS can be found in almost everything we aim to achieve, from Early Primary to graduation. As a result, students receive a truly holistic education, which combines academic achievement with a strong appreciation for the local, regional and global communities of which they are a part and a genuine wish to positively influence the world around them

In practical terms, access to the Round Square network gives students at Regents a number of outstanding opportunities to take part in:

Round Square Week

Once each academic year, all students, from Early Primary up to our IB students, are excused from timetabled lessons for one week in order to take part in a series of activities designed with the six IDEALS in mind.

Student Exchanges

In recent years, Regents students have enjoyed exchanges to Round Square schools in Australia, South Africa, Peru, the US, and India.

Round Square International Service Projects

Regents students have participated in building and community development projects in Peru, South Africa and India.

Regional Services Projects

Regents leads a variety of projects across Thailand, including the Baan Maelid Karen Hill Tribe Partnership Project, which is now entering its seventh year, and the Koh Phi Phi Sea Gypsy Project

Annual International Conferences

Regents students attend the Round Square conferences every year as delegates, speakers and workshop leaders.
