Over the course of two days last week I was fortunate to be able to attend a conference which focused on Women Leaders in Global Education, why there are so few of them compared to their male counterparts and possible solutions to ensuring there are more in the near future. Key note speakers included Professor Deborah Eyre, Director of Education for Nord Anglia Education, Dame Dana Ross-Wawrzynski, Executive Head Teacher of Altrincham Grammar School for Girls and CEO of Bright Futures and Frances King, Principal, Collège Beau Soleil, Nord Anglia Education, formally principal of Roedean Girls School, UK.
Whilst there are no quick and easy answers it was heartening to know that Nord Anglia Education is committed to developing strong and capable leaders, both male and female, from within their organisation. Particular attention is being paid to ensuring our outstanding female teachers and middle leaders are given the necessary support to enable them to fulfill their potential and bring even more strength to the Nord Anglia Education organisation.
