Confidence through student leadership Students at Regents International School Pattaya learn leadership from Early Years age onward. Principal Mike Walton on how student leadership is embedded in every part of Regents' curriculum, and in every step along the students' way from Early Years through Primary to Secondary and Sixth Form.

Having attended the Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) assembly last week, I was impressed again with our young students' presentation and speaking skills. The assembly was hosted by two Year 3 students, who did a terrific job announcing the assembly items, presenting certificates and generally keeping the assembly moving along at a good pace. The assembly concluded with a moving tribute by six Year 6 students, commemorating Anzac Day. The students confidently took their place on the stage, were poised and spoke their memorised lines clearly and with excellent expression. Every Primary assembly at Regents International School Pattaya is at least in part student-led,  developing confidence, public speaking and presentation skills. It is no surprise that our Primary house captains are a force to be reckoned with and the Primary Student Guild really do lead on change.

It is from these foundations that many of our older students learn the skills of leadership in the Secondary School. Our current Head Boy and Head Girl (pictured) both came up through our Primary School. Their passion to make a difference for their peers is not something new, it has grown over many years of opportunity, challenge and empowerment at Regents.
