NAIS Pudong Scholarships
The summer trekking expedition of the year returned this month when a group of our students headed into the Swiss mountains for the experience of a lifetime! This trip – one of several across the year that are organised with other schools from the Nord Anglia Education family – will be followed in early 2025 by a snow sports expedition also in Switzerland, and then a challenging service project in Tanzania.
These brave students and teachers - along with our mascot Tony - embarked on the ‘Experience Switzerland’ expedition for a week and made some unforgettable memories while picking up some amazing life skills.
From their base close to our sister school in Les Martinets in Les Plan-sur-Bex, they’ve been guided by local experts into lush forests, over alpine glaciers, through historic towns (complete with a castle), and even on an overnight trek to a mountain hut.
They’re showing incredible teamwork, creative problem-solving, and loads of confidence while tackling every challenge. And of course, with Swiss cheese, chocolate, and all the food at the dining hall, they stayed well fueled for each day's adventure!
At NAIS Pudong, we strive to achieve our values, one element of which is building confidence in our students to help them better prepare for life after education. But what about building the confidence to question one’s approach and strategy in tacking tasks or ideas?
On the last day of Term One, Principal Diane Vaughan conducted the termly Principal's Awards, this time celebrating the outstanding contributions of students who exemplify one of the school's core values of being considerate.
On 9th and 10th of December years 7-9 students were given the chance to debate on a given present-day topic. A debate is a structured discussion where individuals present and defend their viewpoints on a topic, aiming to persuade others with well-supported arguments.
As part of the Living Legacies lecture series and integrated with the teaching curriculum, NAIS Pudong Secondary invited two parents on December 6 to deliver a lecture on parent-child relationships to the Y8 and Y9 students.
