Reception - Confident Presenters
In Reception, our children are making great strides in building resilience and confidence as they transition between activities. Recently, they delved into Mandarin, pondering the dynamics of their households. They enthusiastically sketched and shared pictures of their family members, showcasing their budding presentation skills.
Reception - Confident Swimmers
They've also taken to the pool with enthusiasm, embracing swim lessons with a positive attitude. Through interactive games and activities, they're not only building water confidence but also developing core strength and safety awareness.
Reception - Considerate Learners
A delightful story, "The Little Red Hen," led to a heart-warming discussion in class. The children brainstormed ways in which the could keep eggs safe while the hen was away. Their thoughtful responses revealed their growing vocabulary and storytelling skills.
Reception - Learning through Exploration
Moreover, our Reception class embarked on a nature walk to create self-portraits using natural materials. This activity encouraged self-awareness, emotional expression, and collaboration while enhancing descriptive language.
Year 3 - STEAM Confident
Our Year 3 students are truly shining in their STEAM endeavours. They recently embarked on an independent research mission, exploring various dinosaur facts. Equipped with laptops, they skilfully gathered data on dinosaur height, weight, speed, and the oldest fossil, all in preparation for creating their own Dinosaur Top Trumps card game.
They seamlessly handled units of measurement, from pounds to kilograms, feet to metres, and miles per hour to kilometres per hour. This cross-curricular learning opportunity also ties into our upcoming Maths curriculum.
In addition to their research prowess, their teamwork, problem-solving abilities, and dedication to the task were truly impressive.
Year 6 STEAM Considerate
Year 6 students have been participating in an exciting code-breaking competition as part of our STEAM and Computing curriculum. They worked collaboratively, demonstrating consideration for each other's ideas while aiming to crack various codes. They received constructive feedback, which motivated them to push their limits in the competition. Both at school and at home, they put their skills to the test, competing with schools worldwide.
STEAM KS5 (Considerate Learners)
In our high school, students are deeply engaged in hands-on learning. They've recently explored the exhilarating process of DNA extraction and light refraction, demonstrating a passion for scientific discovery.
Through DNA extraction, they've uncovered the mysteries of life itself, exploring secrets hidden within organisms and extracting DNA from cells using pipettes. We have some incredible future scientists in our midst and we can't wait to see where their science journeys continue!
In the realm of light refraction, using prisms and their boundless curiosity, our students have created mesmerising rainbows and delved into the captivating world of colours.
Our school fosters not just learning but a profound love for discovery. Witness these incredible moments of enlightenment as our students engage in thrilling experiments.
