Year 11 students were completing their first lesson on the "rates of reaction" topic. This experiment looks at the effect of surface area on the rate of reaction. Students were comparing the mass change for a reaction of different sized calcium carbonate chips with hydrochloric acid. They will use their data to produce graphs next lessons to calculate the rate of reaction. Well done!
