The Canterbury Tales was performed by our Secondary Year 7s today. Written by Geoffrey Chaucer over 600 years ago, the Tales are his most famous book. It tells of a diverse group of medieval folk including the devious Pardoner, the reliable Nun’s Priest, the fun loving Wife of Bath, the upstanding Knight and the hypocritical Friar. They meet on a pilgrimage to Canterbury Cathedral to visit and tell each other stories to pass the time.
The modernised version of the Tales is based around a recent adaption by Martin Riley. Our Year 7s were superb. It was witty, modern, creative and even involved some members of audience. They spoke with confidence and above all else, they really did enjoy it! They made Chaucer colourful and their stories of love, jealousy and trickery were certainly brought to life for us! A big thanks goes to them all, as well as Head of Drama, Miss Bovingdon supported by Mr. De Sousa as well as Mr. Robinson, Mrs. Pate, Ms. Choi, Ms. Madera, Ms. Advani and Ms. Hsu, Mr. Doherty, Mr. Cross and the PE team.
