HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR
A huge thank you to the PTA and our parent volunteers. An incredible amount of work has gone into making this a really special event for our school, and we have no doubt that it’s going to be an amazing evening.
LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Mr Cooklin’s latest ‘Blog’ has been uploaded to Firefly. One of the things that he touches on is the importance of overseas expeditions in giving our students a more global perspective on life. We are fortunate within our family of 42 schools to have some amazing facilities around the world which are available to our students. You should also have received an email from Mr Cooklin on Wednesday with an update on school developments and improvements.

Our Stars of the Week were selected by their teachers based on who had been the most ambitious in their learning. As you’ll know, as a school, we encourage our students to ‘Be Ambitious’ about what they want to achieve in for themselves.

Mr Boyd covered a very important topic in today’s Secondary Assembly: bullying. This is something that we take very seriously and we are constantly reinforcing to our students the impact that bullying has on children, whether they are being bullied or are the bullier. Please take the time to review Mr Boyd’s presentation and to discuss this important topic with your child.
WINDSOR BOUNCE-A-THON RAISES $16,000+
The whole school – teachers and students – got on the Windsor Bouncy Castles last week in support of Windsor House’s local charity, The Heep Hong Society. As well as being a great fun end to the first half-term, we raised an impressive HK$16,000. We look forward to seeing what the next House event will be!
VISIT BY THE CAMBRIDGE EXAMINING BOARD
As our Year 8s move towards the start of their Cambridge IGCSE years (Years 10 and 11), we will be welcoming the assessment team from Cambridge to review the readiness of our facilities and teachers for these qualifications. Assistant Principal, Mr Bishop, has been working with the team to demonstrate the qualifications of our teachers (many of whom have taught IGCSEs successfully for several years) and our teaching facilities.
JOIN OUR MO-VEMBER TEAM – Grow a bushy moustache in November and raise funds for men’s health issues
Mr Reid is looking for more NAIS dad’s to join his Mo-Bro team in support of the Movember Foundation. This important charity does great work in promoting awareness and raising funds for men’s health issues, such as prostate and testicular cancer. Click here to join Mr Reid or donate to his team.
FOOTBALL – Y5/6 NAIS Knights – Click for our team photo
Our Year 5 and 6 Football Team had a great tournament at Kings Park this week. They made it into the Plate Semi-Finals with wins over Shatin Junior and hard-fought draws against Glenealy and GSIS. They were finally beaten by 1-0 by ICHK. Another great outing for the Knights and the rapid improvements in team ability and spirit are clear to see.
NAIS NETBALL KNIGHTS
Our two Netball teams have been training hard for their tournament next Friday in Aberdeen. I know you’ll join us in wishing them all the best of luck. We’ll be following the games with photos and updates on Facebook. Go Netball Knights!
COBIS GAMES 2016 – Kazakhstan (10-12 March) & Dubai (26-29 May) – For more details, click here
After the success of the COBIS Games last year, we will again be sending teams to compete. This year, we will be sending both Primary and Secondary teams. The Secondary Games will take place in Dubai in March, while the Primary Games will be held in Kazakhstan in May. Try outs for the teams will start with swimming during next week’s PE lessons.
BOX OF HOPE – Deadline for delivery 9 November
Thank you to all the families who have already packed up and delivered their Boxes of Hope to our school. We will have quite a pile soon in our reception area, and it’s lovely to see our students taking such an interest in preparing little packages for other children around Asia. You can see more details here.
I’ve just walked around the school and the decorations for the Halloween Spooktacular are amazing! Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible later. Please do remember that we don’t have on-site parking, so please see if you can car pool, take a taxi or jump on the MTR.
