Dear Parents,
Our school was filled with colourfully dressed children – and teachers – today, and all for a worthy cause. In every class, the children spoke about the importance of supporting families in Nepal after the earthquake – and the donations of pocket money have added up to more than $16,000. We’ll be sending this money directly to the Disasters Emergency Committee, an umbrella organisation bringing together 13 leading aid charities. We look forward to following up on how our pupils’ pocket money is helping those in need.

Stars of the Week – Good Manners – Click here for photos
A really important SotW this Friday which recognised and celebrated good manners. Our Assistant Principal, Sarah Harley, ran an Assembly on the subject last week, and understanding the important of respect and manners is a key part of our school community. It obviously works as Maddi Palser, our Admissions Manager, emailed our Senior Leadership Team yesterday after a school tour to say:
“I wanted to give you some feedback from some parents that I showed around yesterday, who commented to me (after about six little people gave us a cheery “good morning” as we walked around) that the level of interaction and engagement at the school was wonderful. They were really impressed with how friendly and polite the children were.”

Our Secondary School Team for the Battle of the Books travelled to Kellett today to compete against Harrow, Kellett, CDNIS and St Paul's Co-ed. We had a strong win against Harrow, and it was a good experience for us to build on next year. Well done to our team: Valeria, Lucia, Charlie and Ryan with rotating assistance from Skylar, Suzy, Rebecca, Vivian, Andrew and Daniel. Click here for photos and a list of the books they had to read. This is a great list to dip into if you’re looking for books suitable for Years 7 to 9.
Finally, if you missed our interesting workshop on “Talking to Your Child about Sex & Relationships” with David Sheehan, you can see the presentation here. It was certainly an interesting and thought-provoking session with lots of questions and feedback from parents.
Please look out for our annual Parent Satisfaction Survey on Monday. This is a survey that we do annually for all Nord Anglia Education schools and is a really important tool to help us to better recognise what we are doing well and where we need to improve. This will be our first year, and we’re really keen to hear from as many of you as possible.
