James Clee

English Teacher and Head of Year 10
James Clee - James Clee

James is an experienced teacher of English who has taught language and literature for over fifteen years. He has worked with students from a range of different backgrounds, both in high school and university, and has taught in the United Kingdom and abroad. Since joining the International School of Moscow in 2018, he has enjoyed working with inspiring colleagues and pupils as well as experiencing the hustle and bustle of life in a big metropolis.

Promoting a love and appreciation of language and literature is James’ primary objective. In the classroom, his philosophy of education takes root in empowering students to be critical thinkers, empathetic individuals, and lifelong learners. He likes to foster an environment where pupils can express their intellectual curiosity, challenge assumptions, find their own unique voice, and embark upon a journey of self-discovery.

Outside of the classroom, James enjoys spending time with friends or at home with a good book or movie. He is also a keen sportsman, music lover, and adventurer. His dream is to fly to the Karman line, the boundary between earth’s atmosphere and space.
