Angeliki Matani

Year 5 Assistant Teacher

Angeliki has been working in international education for seventeen years. What she enjoys most is inspiring children to be life-long learners. She believes that children should be taught to be little explorers and analysts. They need to be given the tools and skills that will help them succeed in a future world, a world which is unknown to us today.

Angeliki believes that parents should also be trained to participate in less traditional methods of teaching. They should be available to answer all questions, to which their young explorers will seek answers, and to contribute to their children's projects, when this is required. She believes that school should also teach respect and global awareness. The beauty of an international institution is that students are so different and that they can learn so much from one other.

Angeliki’s passion are languages and books. She has spent nine years as a library assistant and loves seeing children’s eyes light up when they find books that speak to them. She loves reading stories to the little ones, making book presentations and giving book recommendations. For many years her goal in life was to make reluctant readers fall in love with books.

At her free time, Angeliki enjoys being on her scooter, playing basketball with her son and, of course, reading books.
