Andy qualified with a BSc (Hons) Sports Science from the University of Central Lancashire in 2003 and began his career in education as a teaching assistant in a large secondary school in West Yorkshire, UK before gaining his qualified teacher status in 2005. Andy left the UK in 2012 to become Director of Sport at an International in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia before joining International School, Moscow in August 2022.
As a life-long ambassador for well-being, physical education and sports, Andy is motivated to inspire and educate students to develop as confident and competent individuals and wholeheartedly believe in the positive impact that supportive learning environments have on personal growth and academic success.
Andy brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to his roles as a PE teacher and Head of Year 11. Andy strongly believes in, and promotes the importance of connectedness within our school community. He demonstrates this daily through being present in all conversations and leading with positive intent.
Andy originates from Tamworth, UK and supports Aston Villa Football Club. He is a keen golfer, enjoys badminton and while in Malaysia developed a love for Murtabak Ayam. Andy is joined in Moscow by his family, and enjoys spending time exploring everything this incredible city has to offer.
