INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC PROGRAMME

Our instrumental programme will deepen and refine your child’s musical skills, as they enjoy one-to-one and group lessons in the piano, violin, flute, ukulele, and more.

At The International School of Moscow, instrumental music is embedded into the heart of our creative curriculum. Here, your child will be able to learn a variety of instruments, before taking the opportunity to perform on stage.

All students have a dedicated group lesson each week, which is led by one of our specialist instrumental teachers.

We also offer students the opportunity to sign up for one-to-one instrumental lessons.

Our Instrumental Music Programmes

Your child's musical journey begins with the recorder, guitar, or violin. It then expands and develops so that, by Secondary, they're ready to perform in orchestras and concerts.

Lessons take place as follows:

Professional staff

We employ a range of musicians at ISM, with specialisms covering all instrumental families.

ISM's staff have graduated from highly regarded conservatoires such as The Moscow Conservatory (Moscow), The Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester), and Gnessin Academy (Moscow).

Variety of choices

We offer individual lessons in the following instruments, which take place during the school day:

International collaborations

Each year, we participate in the Nord Anglia Education Virtual Young Musician of the Year Competition.

In addition to our academic music programme, which includes IGCSE and A-level music, students can join one of our ensembles, which rehearse regularly throughout the year.

ISM ensembles perform at a range of events, including those held at Moscow International House of Music, The Prokofiev Museum, The British Ambassador's Residence, and GUM Exhibition Room.

Orchestral experiences

Global recognition

A large number of our students are entered for internationally-recognised music examinations. In addition to world class one-to-one music tuition, ISM strives to support students entering into online ABRSM and Rock School music examinations with personalised advice, support with recording and with understanding the guidelines.
