Join our upcoming Open Days to learn about the outstanding education at ISM
On Friday the 8th of February, seventeen students from Year One to Year Six competed in the annual ‘ISM’s Got Talent’ event. They sang, danced and played a whole range of instruments in the hope of becoming the 2019 winner.
The event was divided into three main age groups: Year One and Two, Year Three and Four, Year Five and Six. One winner was chosen from each category and they will go on to perform at Family Fun Day in June 2019.
The final itself was a tremendous event with some outstanding performances. It was very difficult for the judges to actually choose one winner in each category. The auditions were very competitive with over forty acts taking part. This led to the excellent acts making up the final.
Deya and Ann-Sophie from Year One opened the show, playing the guitar and singing an original song. It was a very special moment and they were incredibly brave to go first, especially as we had around 250 people in the audience.
Yejin, Ye LIn and Gahyun performed next and made some very creative origami pieces, which represented their own country, South Korea.
The final performance in the Year One and Two category was from Anna in Year Two who produced a beautiful ballet dance.
The Year Three and Four category was a tightly contested affair with four outstanding performances. Alina from Year Three created her own gymnastics routine, Fyodor from Year Three played the drums and sang the famous Queen song, ‘We Will Rock You’, Anastasiia from Year Four performed her own contemporary dance and Alyona from Year Four tap danced. All four students could have actually won the first prize.
The final category to perform was the Year Five and Six competition, with another four fantastic acts. Mark from Year Five played the guitar and sang, Simo from Year Five performed her own dance to celebrate Chinese New Year, Nicholas, Alexandra and Alisa created some musical comedy with singing, drama, dancing and humour all included. The final performance of the day was Ilya from Year Six who played the electric guitar and sang. The whole place was rocking!
It was very difficult for the judges to decide on the winners, but these three acts came out on top this year:
Year One and Two - Yejin, Ye LIn and Gahyunm (Year Two)
Year Three and Four - Alyona (Year Four)
Year Five and Six - Nicholas, Alexandra and Alisa (Year Six)
A huge well done to all the students who took part. A special thank you to all the teachers who helped organise the event. I can’t wait for next year!
