Join our upcoming Open Days to learn about the outstanding education at ISM
On Monday the 29th of October, witches, skeletons, monsters and many other scary creatures of the night came to visit ISM Rosinka. Halloween 2018 was celebrated in style with the whole school dressing up for the day.
Mr Keach, Mr Charlton, Mr Rowan and Ms Wagstaff started the day by greeting the children on the school gate at 08:00. “I know that it is you, Mr Keach”, was a common sentence shared by the students when they entered the school. Mr Charlton led an assembly all about Halloween and shared a story about the three little skeletons who had to cross the ‘Bridge of Doom’, where a monster lived underneath. “I know this is not true”, was another popular phrase. After many discussions about whether our younger students would be too scared to celebrate Halloween, it quickly became apparent that they were fully enjoying the day and they all could not wait to learn and experience more.
Year Five students have created an excellent display next to their classroom, so if you get a chance to visit school in the next few weeks, please go and see it.
Year One also celebrated the Mexican ‘Day of the Dead’. It was a wonderful event, where all the students in Year One danced, sang and ate lots of Mexican food. Mr Charlton was very happy as it is his most favourite type of cuisine. The parents provided a whole range of cakes, biscuits and other snacks, all Halloween themed. Thank you to all the Year One parents for a great day.
Student Council is an integral part of school life at ISM Rosinka and in September they requested to have a Halloween Movie Night. Mr Mehrabian agreed and between 16:00 and 17:45, students in Years One to Six stayed in school to watch ‘Hotel Transylvania 3’. Over 80 students enjoyed pizza, crisps and chocolate, whilst watching the movie with their friends. Over 60,000 Rubles was raised to support the Melisa Erdem Fund.
Thank you to all the parents, students and staff who supported this event. Plans are already in place to host a Christmas Movie Night in December.
