BRITISH EDUCATIONAL QUALITY

At our British school in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, we teach a carefully constructed academic programme that will lay the foundations for your child’s future – whatever they choose to be or do in life.

All our students follow the English National Curriculum, which includes IGCSEs and A-levels. These qualifications set the standard for international education and provide pathways to higher education across the globe. We offer the widest choice of subjects in Uzbekistan, too, ensuring what and how your child learns matches their hopes and aspirations for the future.

Learning in small class sizes and enjoying global experiences that cater to their passions and talents, your child will enjoy a truly personalised education that engages, excites, and inspires. Tailoring learning in this way enables our students to achieve fantastic grades. This opens doors to the world’s top universities, including Cambridge, University College London, and Sciences Po in Paris.

Academic excellence

The first and only school in Uzbekistan to be a member of FOBISIA – which promotes excellence in British-international education in Asia – our pioneering academic programme is one of the best in the country.

From the Early Years Foundation Stage through to IGCSEs and A-levels, your child will follow the world-renowned English National Curriculum. Adapted to our international context, our curriculum challenges and inspires each student, giving them the freedom to explore their passions and showcase emerging talents.

We also offer the widest choice of subjects in Uzbekistan: 18 at IGSCE and 10 at A-level. Our dual British and Uzbek curriculum gives Uzbek nationals the opportunity to study for both the аттестат and their IGCSEs, too.

Our personalised approach to learning – which includes expert wellbeing support and safeguarding policies – sees our students achieve remarkable results. With 41% achieving A* or A grades in their A-levels in 2024, our students far surpassed the UK average of 28% in 2024. These results take our graduates to top universities in Europe, North America, and the Middle East, including Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester, Toronto, and University College London.

As well as membership of FOBISIA, our school is proud to be accredited by the Ministry of Uzbekistan, COBIS, Cambridge, and Pearson Edexcel.

Exceptional learning experiences

At BST, every day is packed with innovative experiences, enabling your child to do what they love, challenge themselves, and experience the thrill of new discoveries.

This includes our STEAM programme with MIT, which opens our students’ eyes to the wonders of science, technology, engineering, art, and maths – and which develops their confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Our collaboration with The Juilliard School provides our students with the highest quality artistic education, sparking their creativity in music, drama, and dance.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award challenges our students to dream big and make a real difference. Nurturing emotional, physical, and social growth – as well as embedding a sense of social responsibility – the Award is a great addition to our students’ university applications.

We also run more than 40 extra-curricular clubs, ranging from sport, music, and arts to languages and science. Our life-changing excursions and international expeditions take your child on adventures in Uzbekistan – including the Andijan Mountains and Charvak Lake – and across the world, broadening their horizons and forging friendships that last a lifetime.

And as they embark on new adventures and exciting experiences, your child’s wellbeing will be paramount; our strong pastoral care culture underpins everything we do. We’re here for every child, no matter what, giving them the tools to look after themselves, building their resilience, and keeping them safe and happy.

World's best teachers

Our children love coming into school. And that’s down to our brilliant teachers, who foster a safe, inclusive, and invigorating learning environment, where everyone is supported to succeed.

In our small class sizes, your child will receive the personalised care and attention they need to flourish. Our teachers really get to know each student, understanding their learning needs and preferences, as well as their passions, skills, and dreams for the future.

We invest a huge amount of time, energy, and resources into attracting the best educators from around the world. Being part of the Nord Anglia global family of schools really helps, too. All our teachers are carefully chosen and hold UK qualified status or equivalent. They have a wealth of experience in British and international schools. Many have Master’s degrees, too.

Our teachers are held to the highest global standards. We invest in their development through bespoke training – including The Juilliard School, MIT, and on the Nord Anglia University platform – that puts them at the forefront of academic best practice.

The Nord Anglia Education family

We’re incredibly proud of our reputation for being a friendly, family-orientated, and welcoming international community. Home to parents, children, and teachers from more than 40 countries, you’ll quickly settle into our warm school environment.

Open to everyone, our Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) fosters a real sense of community spirit and togetherness. They organise family get-togethers and events – including coffee mornings and trivia – and influence the decisions we make. You can also join our fabulous parent and teacher choir, or learn a new language.

Every student is a member of one of our four houses: Romans, Vikings, Saxons, or Normans. Cultivating a strong sense of kinship across the age groups, our houses take part in maths and science weeks, compete in sporting events, and provide a robust support system.

Once you join our school, you become a part of our BST family for life. Our alumni club connects students past and present, sharing stories of adventure, university experiences, and careers around the world.

Our social purpose
Our students are a genuine force for good, strengthening the communities they live and learn in, and taking action in support of global causes.

 Our social purpose

A sense of social responsibility is embedded within our school culture. Here, our students engage with local and global issues, think about how they can make the world a better place, and take action that makes a real difference in our community.

Working with international organisations – including Tashkent Women's International Group, the American Chamber of Commerce, and the British Council – gives our students a global perspective. They also organise high-profile fundraising events, including our annual Charity Chess Championships, working with sponsors like Coca-Cola and Carrefour to raise money for children with cancer.

Your child will take the lead on important community service projects, too. From our Bolanjor Park clean-up and volunteering at the Gavcheg Dog Shelter, to collecting toys for orphanages and donating essential supplies to residential care homes, your child will develop vital transferable skills, as well as become a socially responsible, empathetic, and conscientious young global citizen.

BST is a thriving school community with two locations in the upmarket residential suburb of Mirzo Ulugbek. Both our Sayram and Kalandar campuses combine creative spaces and specialist classrooms, with sports facilities and the latest technology, ensuring every student enjoys an exceptional educational experience.

Our ultra-modern STEAM Centre plays host to our trailblazing collaboration with MIT. Students are challenged to ‘create the future’, solving problems set by university professors and using top-of-the-range design technology, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and robotics equipment.

Avid readers and researchers can spend time in our well-stocked libraries, which have an extensive range of academic and story books. Three large sports halls, football pitches, basketball courts, and a 25-metre swimming pool keep our students’ minds and bodies healthy. And in our two theatres, your child will have the opportunity to pursue their creative passions.

Being part of the Nord Anglia global family brings many benefits. This includes access to the Global Campus learning platform, where your child will connect, collaborate, and take on challenges alongside children from Nord Anglia schools worldwide.
