OUR GIFT TO YOU!
Year 1-4 Bilingual class students have participated in the competition organised during the week of the Francophonie by the French institut.
The competition called “Dis-moi dix mots” : "Tell me 10 words" asked the students of different French speaking schools to learn about , discuss and use 10 French words coming from different countries to create a piece of art, sculpture, text or song.
Our students have been really inspired: - Year 4 adapted “le Corbeau et le Renard” from Jean de La Fontaine, a mini production that has been presented during the drama meeting and did a nice piece of art from it.
Year 1 and Year 3 did a beautiful drawing to explain the meaning of the words.
Year 2 had a long conversation in class about the words and brought nice ideas mixing 3D, explanation of the words and drawing all together to create a meaningful piece of art.
The jury looked at the work from all the schools, last Saturday 24th of March and it was not an easy decision for them to choose the winners for the competition.
The 4 bilingual classes have worked really hard on this and all deserved a prize.
However, we are proud to announce that the Year 2b won the “Grand Jury Prize” this weekend, the students received the certificate from the French Ambassador.
Year 2 learnt about the good news the following morning and are really proud and happy.
The blog highlights the transformative power of physical activity, emphasizing how it boosts energy, focus, and mental well-being. At Compass International School, promoting an active lifestyle is integral to fostering both physical and emotional health, which in turn enhances students' academic performance. The new initiative, Kickstart Kilometre, invites the school community to walk or jog together every Thursday morning, kickstarting their day with positive energy and improved focus. This approach aims to inspire a balanced lifestyle that helps manage stress and supports overall success in both academics and life.
