Our students conduct a Research Project with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Self-Driving Cars. Compass International School conducts Research Project with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Self-Driving Cars.

Compass International School Doha students are about to learn from MIT postgraduates on self-driving cars by completing a project involving the exploration of curiosity and gaining expertise through research. Our students will explore the STEAM components of self-driving cars, autonomy, and artificial intelligence, learn about the work MIT is contributing to self-driving cars, research an aspect of autonomous vehicles to gain understanding and complete a project that demonstrates their ideas and understanding of self driving cars.

MIT postgraduate student, Bjorn Luetjens is visiting the campuses to talk with our students and do activities. He has a BSc in Engineering Sciences from MIT and is currently studying for an MS in Aeronautics and Astronautics.  His current research is in autonomous vehicles and algorithms for safe navigation in a pedestrian world. At MIT, many people, labs, and departments are working on self-driving cars; in the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), the algorithms and systems that help vehicles operate without human supervision are being written and tested. And the philosophy department and the MIT Media Lab are working to understand how people relate to this burgeoning technology.
