Music at the heart of the College

Dear Champiteans,

‘Music gives a soul to our hearts and wings to our thoughts’, wrote Plato. A major art form since the dawn of humanity, music is an integral part of a holistic education. It occupies a central place in the College's curriculum, through the Juilliard approach, in association with dance and drama. It is celebrated through the College's Cultural Season concerts, which see world-class artists perform in the intimacy of the chapel. 1 in 5 pupils at the school take private music lessons, coordinated by Bella Missirian. Magali Riederer enchants the School's events with the choir she directs. At our student assemblies, we are treated to piano, violin and vocal performances by our fellow students. A student rock band has also been formed. As far as possible, teachers in other subjects will include music-related themes in their lessons.
