Admissions Open 2025-2026
Today on Facebook and on our website we publish the examination results for the Cambridge Assessments (CAIE) for International GCSE and A Level Examinations. These results are, as any informed observer will note, highly impressive.
The importance of the two phases of examination cannot be overstated. The IGCSE examinations are often the only results universities see when students make their applications for the next stage of their education after leaving school. International A Level results provide further proof of the students’ academic quality to give them access to the university courses of their choice, anywhere in the world.
They represent very strong evidence of the quality of teaching provided by our dedicated teaching staff. It speaks of the support and care provided to every student to help them achieve their best. It speaks to me of the hours of thoughtful preparation by both teacher and student. Often students are very nervous before these examinations and we know that fear impedes progress and achievement, but these results indicate how effectively the teachers have nurtured and supported their students.
Above all, these results tell of the effectiveness of the teaching programme that has been carefully constructed to help our emerging bilingual students. All research suggests that it takes between 3 and 5 years to gain sufficient bilingual proficiency to undertake these rigorous examinations. It means that teachers’ and parents’ dedication to this programme really does pay off and it is providing students with exceptional life chances and choices to develop their futures.
I am as ever extremely grateful to all of our teachers for their commitment and devotion to their roles as educators. I am equally proud of all that the students have achieved, and I know that parents too are equally proud of their child’s success.
I wish you all a very happy national holiday break, whatever you do, and look forward to seeing you back on Tuesday 4th September.
