Wednesday saw us launch our inaugural STEM day to celebrate the bringing together of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
STEM careers are in every need of filling and we have no doubt our fine BVIS students will fill these vacancies here in Vietnam in the years to come.
Students faced the challenge to build a moving car using very limited resources. The car had to run on renewable energy and yet again helped bring out the competitive nature of the students. With basic technological skills being used in a reasonably challenging context, students found it challenging. However with one student declaring that the thing they learnt was “not to give up” and many groups becoming victorious in their quest to make their car work, the day was a resounding success.
The next step now is for students to build on these skills. Where else does science come together with maths in a technology context? What will the challenge be for the students next year? We look forward to building on this day and advancing the resources available to students; ever increasing the ambition of our students.
