On the final day of Term, April 5th, the spirit of Thingyan filled the campus as students, staff, and parents came together to celebrate Myanmar's traditional New Year festival. The day was marked by lively performances, mouthwatering traditional cuisine, and, of course, a spirited water fight that left everyone soaked and smiling.
The celebration kicked off with enthusiastic performances from students showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Myanmar through dance, music, and drama. Staff and parents also joined in, adding to the festive atmosphere with their talents and enthusiasm. One of the highlights of the event was the delicious spread of traditional food, so, so much food, a real gastronomic delight. However, the true essence of Thingyan was captured in the water fight that ensued, where students, staff, and parents joyfully drenched each other in water, symbolizing the washing away of the old year's sins and welcoming the new year with a fresh start.
Principal Fox expressed her delight at the enthusiasm of the BSY community, emphasizing that Thingyan celebrations have always been a cherished tradition at the school.
