On November 11 and 12, The British School Yangon (BSY) experienced an electrifying atmosphere as nearly 250 students, teachers, parents, and coaches came together for an action-packed weekend of sports. The U19 BSY volleyball teams, both the boys and girls, showcased exceptional skills and determination, earning a commendable third place in the tournament.
The excitement didn't stop there. In U14 Basketball, the BSY boys demonstrated their prowess, securing a well-deserved third place. Meanwhile, the U14 BSY girls emerged as the undisputed champions of the MISAC tournament, adding an extra layer of glory to the weekend.
Beyond the victories, the weekend was a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship that defines the BSY community. Players, coaches, supporters, and everyone involved contributed to creating an atmosphere filled with camaraderie and mutual respect.
Last year marked an exciting chapter for the British School Yangon as we launched our first MIT challenges, designed to push the boundaries of learning by encouraging students to dive deep into hands-on, collaborative problem-solving. From Early Years to Year 10, students engaged in challenges that stimulated their curiosity, sharpened their critical thinking, and connected classroom knowledge to real-world applications. What started as an initiative has now become a defining feature of our curriculum.
We are excited to share a significant milestone in our journey: The British School Yangon (BSY) has officially received accreditation from the Council of British International Schools (COBIS). This prestigious recognition highlights our unwavering commitment to delivering high-quality education that aligns with British standards.
