Junior Football Tournament
BST Lion Cubs returned to full competition at the Junior Football Club football tournament. Despite a long absence from sport and training, BST lion Cubs in three age categories competed well, showed amazing team spirit and total sportsmanship. A third place win on penalties, a fourth place loss on penalties and a second place group finish rounded off an amazing day. Thank you to all those that came to support the teams and their coaches!

Sumalak Recipe
We have just celebrated Navruz so its time for some Sumalak!
Sumalak is prepared from germinated wheat seeds, which are milled and then cooked in a cauldron in cottonseed oil with the addition of flour for 10-12 hours. It is believed that sumalak should be cooked with music, singing, humorous merry chants, dancing, love and a good heart.

Book Week 2021
This year, World Book Day fell on 4th March 2021. At BST we celebrated our love of reading over three days: 3rd – 5th March. From EYFS to Y6, English lessons for the whole week were based on the wonderful ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ by Drew Daywalt. All of the children were invited to write letters to the crayons to persuade them to return to their classrooms. Some of the teachers even dressed up as crayons for our dress up day parade!

Chess Championship
This year BST is hosting its first ever Chess Championship for charity on Saturday 13th March. The tournament is open to all young people from ages 10 – 19, with local and international schools each bringing 5-10 students. We hope to have 100 participants, with each participant paying an entry fee of 30,000UZS. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Ezgu Amal Foundation to fund chemotherapy for children.
