BA(Hons), PGCE, QTS
I have 22 years of teaching experience, 18 of which were as a Primary Teacher in the United Kingdom and I qualified with a Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the UEA in 2001. I have spent the past year working for Nord Anglia at BISS Puxi in Shanghai. Prior to that, I worked for Wellington China, teaching in both an international school in Tianjin and a Chinese bilingual school in Shanghai. Before embarking on my career as a teacher, I gained my BA (Hons) in English Literature at Durham University in the UK.
I currently work as a Year 4 Primary Teacher and Global Campus Lead at BISS, and very much enjoy utilising my specialist experience in both English teaching and primary level pedagogy for educating students across the curriculum. Never happier than in the classroom, I love encouraging creativity, collaboration and a genuine zest for learning. I am passionate about children’s literature and seek to promote a life-long relationship with reading among my young students.
Engendering a global perspective in my classroom is also close to my heart and I thoroughly enjoy sharing historical, geographical and artistic adventures with the children.
