I started teaching at Altra College Bleichrodt, a secondary school for students with special educational needs. My next job was at Damstede in Amsterdam. In this secondary school, I was a Dutch teacher and tutor, and coordinator of two year groups. In August 2021, I came to BISS to be a Primary and Secondary teacher at the Shanghai Dutch School. I’m passionate about motivating students to use their mother tongue to express themselves and to constantly improve their language skills. Interpreting language and communicating ideas (in both formal and creative language) will help them improve self-confidence. I also love the cultural importance of the SDS in our community.
