As part of their IPC topic 'Moving People', Year 6 have been learning about Western Expansion in the 19th century, specifically the Oregon Trail. They decided to challenge themselves to build a full-sized covered wagon or 'Prairie Schooner'. They had to research the size and parts, plan and design their model and then build it. Using mostly cardboard, they managed to create a huge working vehicle. They had a lot of fun, learned about history and teamwork along the way, and are understandably very proud of the results.
