This term, Year 8 Biology students have been learning about and exploring the connections between the respiratory and circulatory systems.
They have investigated the effect of exercise on heart rate and practiced how to take their own pulse rate. This week, students had the opportunity to see their textbook diagrams come to life when they dissected turkey hearts. Students were asked to identify the structures of the heart, the major blood vessels and to describe the cardiac cycle.
Students from the British International School Bratislava plan a 126-hour cycling fundraiser to raise funds for people in need in Tanzania.
