Year 2 ventured out to the beautiful countryside of District 9 to explore ao dais from a range of places and through history.
As part of the IPC topic ‘All Dressed Up’, Year 2 visited the Ao Dai Museum located in District 9. We have been learning how clothes must fit the environment and weather for the place they are worn and have compared outfits from different countries.
During Vietnamese Culture lessons, we have learned about the history of the ao dai, designing our own based on the different examples we saw. It has been interesting to see how different regions have different colours, patterns and styles. During our visit, it was great fun to work out how old some of the ao dais were; one was from 300 years ago!
