Thien Phuoc Foster Home Donation
Our long term community partner, Thien Phuoc Disabled Home, received therapy equipment this week through money from kind donations given at all three campuses.
Thien Phuoc is a residential centre that provides healthcare, rehabilitation and education for children with Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy and Down Syndrome. We have worked with Thien Phuoc for over 6 years and continue to build a strong relationship with them through weekly visits as part of Year Group projects and Clubs.
Our PTG have actively supported them since the start of the partnership and continue to support them in sustainable ways. Thien Phuoc’s main necessity is nappies and yogurts as they have over 60 children that live at the centre. Money from PTG events on all campuses helps to support them with this. In addition, we occasionally receive random donations from the school community.
Last year, a group of APP teachers who were leaving Vietnam held a second hand sale to raise money for Thien Phuoc. The Korean group of parents at APS kindly donated money and we also received a donation from Tu Xuong campus parents. The money was used to buy Thien Phuoc valuable therapy equipment.
On Monday, Helping Hands at Thien Phuoc Club (APP and APS students) helped the children to use it for the first time! The staff at Thien Phuoc were very thankful for this gift and are hopeful that it will support the children with their rehabilitation.
The kindness of parents, staff and students at BIS continues to astound me and we should feel very proud as a community for what we can achieve!
