U11 SISAC Table Tennis Championship 2018

The annual U11 SISAC Table Tennis Championship took place on Friday 1st June, 2018 with a record number of players. The quality of the tournament continues to develop with the participation of 8 teams from 7 different schools in Ho Chi Minh City; BIS, AIS, SIS, BVIS, ISHCMC, AMIS NB and AMIS NVC.

From 27th-31st May, this huge annual sporting event witnessed 6 British international schools across Asia competing in 4 tournaments over three days, on the island of Phuket in Thailand.

Community Concert with Juilliard Alumni Jason Crimi

As part of our collaboration with the world’s leading performing arts institute; The Juilliard School we will be welcoming Juilliard alumni Jason Crimi to BIS HCMC on Tuesday 26th June. Jason will be performing for both our Primary and Secondary school students and we will be holding a Community Concert from 6:30pm in the Secondary Campus auditorium.

Christina Noble Children’s Foundation Scholarships 2018

This year, with the support from the Secondary PTG, we have been able to pay for 4 elementary scholarships and 3 university scholarships for underprivileged children through the CNCF scholarship programme.

Today we welcomed back to school 40 Year 5 and 6 athletes that represented our school this past week at the FOBISIA Primary Games in Phuket Thailand. I have been keeping up to date with their progress on Twitter and it has been wonderful to see their hard work and effort over the last 2 terms pay off as the medal count increased day by day.

BIS HCMC Graduation Ceremony 2018

On Saturday 26th May, 72 Year 13 students came together with over 400 of their teachers, family members and friends to celebrate their Graduation at the Park Hyatt, Saigon. It was a special ceremony filled with an array of emotions; great excitement for what lies ahead for our graduating Class of 2018, tinged with some sadness as we said our fond farewells.

Teacher's Story - Lara Wilkinson and Hockey for Heroes

From 2013-2015, Lara Wilkinson was a primary PE teacher here at the British International School, Ho Chi Minh City. Since leaving Vietnam to go back to the UK, Lara has combined her passion for hockey with a charity close to her heart; Help for Heroes. We speak to her about her upcoming challenge Operation Endure where her ladies hockey squad will be completing 8 military challenges and 28 hockey matches in just 8 days.

BIS HCMC Triumph in 2018 Da Nang Triathlon

This month saw the annual IRONMAN 70.3 Vietnam race return to the beautiful coastal city of Da Nang with more than 1,600 people from 56 countries and territories fighting for a podium position. Amongst the thousands who turned up to compete in these races were teachers, students and parents from BIS HCMC, ready to show Da Nang what they’re made of!
