On Friday, our BIS Hanoi Secondary Choir had the honour of performing at the annual UK and Commonwealth Remembrance Service held at Cua Bac Church. Each year, this meaningful event gathers members of the international community to remember and pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts worldwide. The BIS Hanoi Secondary Choir has been privileged to contribute their voices to this solemn occasion year after year, marking a significant moment of reflection and unity.
This year, our choir delivered moving performances of two beautiful and reflective choral pieces. They began with "Be Still, My Soul", arranged to the stirring melody of Finlandia by Jean Sibelius, a piece often associated with resilience and peace. The haunting yet hopeful notes resonated through the church, setting a tone of quiet remembrance.
The choir also performed "Oh Love" by Elaine Hagenberg, a contemporary choral piece that celebrates love as a powerful, enduring force. This heartfelt performance echoed the service’s message of hope, unity, and compassion, as the choir’s harmonies filled the church and created a profound atmosphere.
Led by our talented Music teacher, Ms. Scott, the choir has worked tirelessly in rehearsals to prepare for this significant performance. Their dedication and commitment to excellence were evident in every note, as they honored the memory of those remembered on this day.
We're incredibly proud of our students for representing our school and community at such an important event, demonstrating not only their musical talents but also their commitment to values of respect and remembrance.
Thank you to all who attended and supported our choir at the Remembrance Service.
