Meet Jack Nichols: PE Teacher and CAS Coordinator at BIS Hanoi | British International School Hanoi - Meet Our Teacher Jack Nichols PE Teacher and CAS Coordinator at BIS Hanoi
We sat down with Jack Nichols, one of our dynamic PE teachers and the CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) Coordinator at BIS Hanoi. With a passion for student well-being and a commitment to individual growth, Jack shares what drives him as an educator and what makes BIS Hanoi so special.

Can you introduce yourself and your role at BIS Hanoi?

My name is Jack Nichols. I'm a PE teacher and the CAS Coordinator at BIS Hanoi.

What inspired you to go into teaching?

Jack Nichols - PE teacher at BIS Hanoi

I got into teaching to inspire the next generation. I wanted to provide an opportunity for everyone to feel seen and everyone to know that someone is looking out for them, both academically and pastorally.

What do you love most about teaching?

What I love about teaching is the fact that I work with a full variety of people, whether that's year 1 or year 13 and whether that's in the classroom or in outside space, and I get the chance to affect people's well-being so I can put a smile on people's face.

How do you help students reach their full potential?

I believe that each student's full potential is different and viewing each student as an individual is really important in order to help them achieve what they desire and get to the goal that is personal to them.

What do you enjoy most about teaching at BIS Hanoi?

What I love the most about teaching BIS Hanoi is the absolute variety of different cultures and backgrounds that I get to experience and interact with every single day across the staff body and the student body as well. I feel like the pupils that we have here at BIS really the biggest joy to work with.

In your view, what makes BIS Hanoi students unique?

BIS students are unique in the fact that when they arrive here at BIS, they arrive from a variety of different areas of the country and the world. And when they arrive, they suddenly fall into what we call a place to belong and they start talking in common languages. They make friends out of nowhere and once they start fitting it in, they have the ability to really achieve their own individualised goals.

With his passion for student well-being and commitment to personalised learning, Jack continues to make a lasting impact at BIS Hanoi. His dedication to celebrating each student’s individuality and creating a supportive environment reflects the core values of our school community. Watch his interview below!
